Limitations & Warnings
It's important to know what Roya does — and what it doesn't. النسخة العربية
⚠️ Very important
Roya is a useful educational tool, but it is not a substitute for:
- ❌ Consulting qualified scholars and jurists
- ❌ Medical diagnosis by qualified doctors
- ❌ Psychological therapy or counselling
- ❌ Making important life decisions
What Roya does not do
❌ It does not issue religious rulings (fatwas)
Roya does not issue binding religious rulings or legal-religious opinions. Its interpretations are interpretive views only, not jurisprudential rulings.
If you need a fatwa: consult a scholar qualified in Islamic law.
❌ It does not replace doctors or medical professionals
Roya does not diagnose illness and does not provide medical or psychological advice. Dreams may reflect how you feel, but they are not a medical diagnosis.
If you are experiencing anxiety, depression, insomnia or recurring nightmares, please see a psychiatrist or qualified therapist.
❌ It does not guarantee accuracy or predict the future
Dream interpretation is a matter of possibility, not certainty. A single symbol can mean different things depending on personal context.
Roya's interpretation is a best estimate based on the text you write and on what classical interpreters said. It may not reflect the actual meaning of your dream, and it does not predict future events.
❌ It does not replace personal advice
Everyone is unique. Your dream is shaped by:
- Your psychological and emotional state
- Your cultural and religious background
- Your personal experiences
- Your current circumstances
- Your native language and culture
Roya gives a general interpretation. You may want to talk to someone you trust who knows your full situation.
When should you consult a specialist?
🕌 Consult an Islamic scholar if:
- You want a religious ruling or fatwa
- The dream concerns sensitive religious matters
- You worry the dream is a spiritual warning or message
- You want a specialised jurisprudential opinion
🏥 Consult a psychiatrist or therapist if:
- You have recurring nightmares that affect your sleep
- Your dreams cause you severe anxiety or fear
- You notice a worrying pattern in your dreams
- You are experiencing depression or general anxiety
- You want to understand the psychological side of your dreams
👥 Talk to a close friend or spiritual mentor if:
- You want a personal interpretation that takes your context into account
- An interpretation leaves you confused or worried
- You want the view of someone who knows you well
- You need spiritual guidance or life advice
Technical limitations
Language
Roya currently works best in Modern Standard Arabic and English. It may be less precise with:
- Regional Arabic dialects (Egyptian, Gulf, Levantine, etc.)
- Mixed Arabic and English
- Heavy slang
Modern symbols
Some modern symbols do not appear in the classical sources, such as:
- Cars, smartphones and modern devices
- Digital platforms and the internet
- Modern medical equipment
We try to infer meanings from the underlying principles, but the result may be less precise.
Very complex dreams
Some dreams are very complex or contain ambiguous symbols that we may not be able to interpret well. In these cases:
- Read the interpretation as a "best estimate"
- Think critically and trust your own judgement
- Consult a specialist if the dream matters to you
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- ✅ Reading interpretations critically
- ✅ Not making life decisions based on an interpretation alone
- ✅ Consulting specialists if a dream is important to you
- ✅ Understanding that interpretations are relative, not certain
- ✅ Looking after your own privacy and wellbeing
- ✅ Not sharing another person's dreams without their permission
Disclaimer
You use Roya at your own discretion. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:
- Any decision you make based on an interpretation from Roya
- Any emotional or psychological distress resulting from an interpretation
- Any financial or personal loss
- Any inaccurate or outdated information in an interpretation
- Relying entirely on an interpretation instead of consulting specialists

How to get the most out of Roya
- Use it as a starting point: the interpretation is a place to begin, not the final word.
- Reflect on it: does the interpretation match your own understanding of your dream?
- Learn more: if the dream is important, study the topic further or consult a specialist.
- Listen to yourself: you know your dreams and your circumstances better than any software tool.
- Neither trust it completely nor reject it outright: take what benefits you and leave what doesn't.
A final word
Roya was built with care to help you explore your dreams through the classical Islamic tradition. But we acknowledge the limits of our technology and of ourselves.
If an interpretation worries you, or you have any doubt — don't hesitate to seek a specialist's opinion. Your dreams matter, and your psychological and spiritual wellbeing matter more than any interpretation.
"Allah knows best, and every dream can carry several meanings depending on the dreamer's state and circumstances."
